About DIsJ

Empowering Global Islamic Scholarly Excellence

DIsJ is an independent, non-profit digital indexing platform designed to unify and standardize scholarly publications across OIC Member States as a central Open Access hub. It was developed to combat “Digital Colonialism” and a rigged academic system that causes massive financial drain—projected to reach USD 703.3 million by 2026—by bridging the gap between local research and global recognition.

Our Vision

To reclaim intellectual and fiscal sovereignty for the Islamic world by becoming the global benchmark for scholarly indexing, fostering integrity, and ensuring excellence in digital academic publishing.

Our Mission

To serve as a pioneering digital infrastructure dedicated to the preservation and accessibility of Islamic scholarship, ensuring our knowledge is measured by global standards without systemic barriers.

From Individual Vision to Institutional Collaborations

Originating from the vision of a researcher from Aceh—the ‘Veranda of Mecca’—DIsJ was established to champion the digital sovereignty of the Muslim Ummah. Recognizing that an infrastructure of this magnitude requires international governance for global credibility, he invites strategic collaboration from all stakeholders in the management and development of DIsJ. This initiative ensures that Islamic knowledge serves as a primary pillar of global scientific advancement.

What We Do

The primary role of DIsJ is to index scientific journals from all OIC member states. Additionally, DIsJ provides rankings for both publishers and the journals' countries of origin.

Journal Rankings

Journal ranking is not intended to create a hierarchy, but rather to foster collective progress among journals across the Islamic world.

Publisher Rankings

The publisher ranking represents a weighted collective value derived from the journals under their management

Country Rankings

Country rankings represent the weighted collective value of the publishers based within those nations.
